Open Source Projects
Zenoh Fragmentation
Extension of the open-source Zenoh platform to improve the transmission of large-size files over the Zenoh infrastructure, by allowing to select a P2P source-destination fragmentation and substitute the default hop-to-hop fragmentation typical of the NDN-based approach the platform lays on.
ULOOF Framework
User-Level Online Offloading Framework (ULOOF), equipped with a constantly improving decision engine powered by machine learning, provides efficient mobile computation offloading platform that significantly improves application’s energy usage and execution time.
IOT Elastic Provisioning with Containers and Microservices
Design and development of virtual services in a combined fog computing, cloud computing, and IoT setting, made up of multiple devices with varying computation capabilities to highlight the benefits of virtualization to: i) move and redeploy mobile components to the closest fog nodes; ii) dynamically scale and provision the resources for the fog computing layer.
IoT Scalability and Performance Enhancement
Distributed architecture combining IoT protocols (i.e., MQTT and CoAP) to enhance the scalability and performance of fog computing gateways for the efficient IoT-cloud integration.
Mobile Cloud Networking – EU project
Mobile-cloud architecture analysis to outline an adaptive mobile-cloud orchestration mechanism to deliver services and a dynamic management implementation of the services state migration.
ParticipAct
Urban crowdsensing project to automate the organization of spontaneous and impromptu collaborations of large groups of people participating in collective actions using smartphones on large-scale. Participants collect passive and active data that are processed and shared with other participants and with researchers.
