Hi, I’m Alessandro!

I’m a Software Engineer with passion for technology, research, and practical problem-solving.
In particular, I’m interested in Distributed Systems, IoT, Edge Computing, Microservices, Virtualization and Operating Systems.

I received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science Engineering in 2018 from University of Bologna (Mobile Middleware Research Group), in collaboration with Sorbonne University (LIP6 - Laboratoire d’Informatique Paris IV) and Mid-Sweden University (STC Research Center).

As a researcher, I’ve authored several scientific papers (check my publications), contributing to advancements in the area of distributed systems. Currently, I share my knowledge as a with teaching activities at University of Bologna (check my Academic website), trying to help and to mentor the next generation of tech enthusiasts.

My career spans academia, industry, and public administration sectors, where I have contributed to developing IT services, innovative solutions, and digital strategies. I am actively shaping my country’s digital landscape as part of Italy’s Department for Digital Transformation and, in particular, as Member of the National Working Group on the Italian Cloud Strategy. My work involves fostering secure and scalable cloud adoption for public administration, aligning with the nation’s broader goals of digital transformation and technological sovereignty.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I enjoy writing technology-related articles about topics that fascinate me, like implementations of edge computing systems, or the Linux kernel, or open source projects. When I’m not writing or coding, I like to travel and seeking new experiences to broaden my horizons.
